Things moving very very slowly.Docstech and Importparts have parted ways and Sergio has spent the past few weeks revamping the shop.Car was to be stripped in December in order to start building in January but he ran out of time.

Nothing I can do but wait patiently and use that GT35 as an ornament for now. Sad

Car has been dropped off and work has begun.He installed my new brakes first and removed the motor yesterday.

Nervous but excited.

Cool thats good news... Always good to see ano monster Evo on the streets.

Not sure if you heard Tyrone and I ran our cars at the RGM Torco Dynoday...

I made 350kw atw on 1.7bar (running out of injector) Fuel Rail, FPR and intake mani needs to go on next.

Tyrone made 423kw atw (Highest output Stock ECU 2L 4CYL in SA)

Only cars that made more power that us on the day were the two Lumina's done by Isac Schoeman... 6L V8 Twin Turbo.

Wow.Got goosebumps reading that man.Amazing power.Would love to make 400kw at the hubs on mine.

What turbo is Tyrone running and at what rev limit?How driveable is an Evo at that power level?

As you said before power is a drug you never get enough of.

thats the beauty of an Evo - even at 400KW atw its still very drivable - just accelerates a whole lot faster.

Tyrone is running the same Turbo as me PT6262 just slightly bigger than a 35R, rev's to 9000rpm...

We just added the Intake mani and bigger FMIC, he still runs the stock MAF like me and factory knock sensors and knock control still works.

I'm sure you will make 400kw at hubs no problem - Evo's love boost and love to make power!

Howzit Sal

Things moving along slowly but surely.Block has been honed for the new pistons and the crankshaft assembly has been balanced.Took some time to source bearings but Sergio has them on order now.Should be assembling the bottom end in the next week or so once the gaskets and bearings have arrived.

It hurts to see her gutted out on that lift man.

Howzit Jacques, saw your Evo when it was getting built - some nice stuff on there...

Yours is 2.2L?

Sorry to hear bout the troubles - Evo's normally robust platform and dont give too many issues if they built right... But I guess cars will be cars...


Did you see the: GSC Power-Division 2.2L XR-1.7 4G63T Stroker kit for the for the Evo 4-9

Simple solution for most guys who want to avoid hassles would be:
#GSC 2.2L longrod motor (available as a crate motor)
#GSC S2 274 Cams & Valvetrain
#HTA3582R turbo kit (T3 .63)
#Stock ECU setup

Keep it nice and simple for 350KW atw with a few bolt-ons and supporting mods...

stock ecu did not want to idle, then the haltech cut out with power steering... now with motec m800 still a struggle... 23k paint damage with octane booster

been one crazy ride...

and bought a rx7 fd3s...lol never learn...

I can make the Stock ECU idle, I know a few tricks...

Have got Tomei 280's with 11.5 lift to idle fine and be drivable.

Shout if you need help.

If all goes well should have it back by the end of the month.

Will still need to run it in for 1K km's though.
