The stock Evo 8 & 9 pistons are good for 550HP however the std rods are not and are waiting for the inevitable failure if your pushing over 450HP / 250KW atw.

(This is a common upgrade in the UK for guys that don't want more than 550HP and are running bolt on 50trim and GT30R turbo kits.)
