looking to possibly do a stage2 conversion but just had a few questions.how will it effect reliability?in no way would i want this compromised.what would be the benefits of fitting a "louder"dumpvalve as this is something i would want.is it safe to use octane boosters?and finally who would you recommend to do the conversion?could you also give me an idea on which companies make the best parts for the conversion?THANKS

Well with Evo's it all depends on the budget,

If cost is not an issue then NXGen - get them to do the whole Job one time!

If you on a DIY budget like most of us are:
- collect the parts do it bit by bit
- use good intallers & fabricaters like Riaan from Snail Conversion or Steve Clark from No Sweat Racing

Octane boosters like NF & Torco are safe

Dumpvalve is not a necesary performance mod!

Yeah thast a good idea... Not sure how long it will take to come down to R7 again though.

If you wana go the DIY route, I have some megan racing stuff:
O2 Housing (R1250)
Downpipe (R1000)
Decat pipe (R750)
mechanical O2 sim (R150)

You will need like a HKS Catback to complete the System ot you can just change your backbox like PK did...

BMC drop-in filter R500

I also have a 20G wheel upgrade for a EVO 9 Turbo (R950) and the spare Turbo that came of my Car if you want to build a complete Evo 9 20G Turbo...

Sash is selling his HKS EVC Boost Controller.

Can also hook you up with a remap...

regards
Sal

No longer stock

Greddy Ti-C TBE
Greddy o2 housing
Injen intake with intercooler pipes
Perrin intercooler
Vipec ecu

225kw atw tuned by docstech

Cannot believe the difference in performance. The car spools faster, pulls harder to redline and just sounds 1000 times better.Well worth it.

Can't imagine what 300kw feels like

Cool, sounds like your having fun!
.
Why did opt for a stanalone ECU at this stage?

How much was the Vipec?

Does it do knock control?
What fuel do you use?

You were right about getting an evo to it's full potential. Doesn't feel like the same car.So much more eager now to get up and go.wow

Car has been tuned on pump fuel and is running 1.1bar of boost

Knew the modding wouldn't stop here ,so decided to play it safe and go with the Vipec from the onset. After all the research, found that this is probably one of the most important mods so decided to do it properly the first time.No starting problems, better fuel consumption, infinite power potential, launch control, boost per gear, nice

Looking at upgrading the turbo and manifold now and would love to hear your opinions on the FPred and GT30 turbo kit, regarding spool, driveability, power, price etc

Best car I've owned!

Awsome, I just asked coz the Stock ECU with all its safety features is good for up to 500HP comfortably... and there are ways to push it to 600/700HP

But a standalone does get rid off the retrictions and limitations more easily, no disputing that.

Well I think if your not looking for more than 500HP about 300KW atw then a GT3076R is the Turbo to go for. Best 500HP bang for the buck Turbo in my books for sure!

Have decided to go with the full race fp red kit.

Just wouldn't make sense to replace most of the mods I just bought

Apparentely,with the right mods,this is a 500hp turbo

Would be very happy with 300kw atw

They seem to get good results with them in the states...

Guys in OZ say they not feasible for our kind of pump fuel. They struggle to achieve the same results as the guys in the states. They seem to like big boost 1.8-2.0bar

But would be interesting to see what it can do in SA...

If you have a chance - its a good idea to run on a benchmark Dyno like Snail Conversions:
